The Best Damn FAIL

Avril Lavigne has fired her manager!

Yay! Avril Lavigne has reportedly blamed Terry McBride for her failed third album, The Best Damn Thing. Where many artists have recently thrived with their third record (Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and Good Charlotte), Avril has failed miserably; and it hasn't been helped with all the bad publicity, what with the law-suit against Girlfriend, and rumours of her world-tour not managing to sell. The small things are also disappointing, with a fantastic 2008 calender, fans were expecting a tour picture filled calender for 2009 - but were left disappointed as several of the pictures are the same, or very similar. Now that Avril has left Nettwerk, fans are expecting a successful forth album, hopefully to be released late next year, or early 2010!

Fly On The Wall!

Seen Miley Cyrus's new music video yet?!

Miley's new video for Fly On The Wall has copied Michael Jackson's Thriller video! Except it features Paparazzi rather than zombies. I'm hoping they've only done this because it was the 25th anniversary of MJ's legendary Thriller album this year, and are not just blatantly copying it. They've even gone as far to re-enact the renowned thriller dance; but with a paparazzi twist. Anyways, you may as well check the video out for yourselves here, if you haven't seen it already.

Day 'N' Nite

Kid Cudi Vs Crookers: Day 'N' Nite

If you're into dance music as much as I am, you'll know this track is absolutely fantastic. I'm addicted to it! I heard it on Radio 1 just yesterday and haven't been able to stop listening to it since! It's officially available to buy (download & in stores) on January 12th.

It'll Never Last...

Britney Spears apparently wants a breast reduction...

Ohh dear. Britney's taking her image re-building to the extreme, and has said she wants to make her breasts smaller in an attempt to fit into the outfits she wore years ago; which won't do anything for her now. She says "I’m tempted to have a breast reduction so I can slink into some amazing stage outfits for my next set of shows", does she not realise that the people who only go to shows for who you are have become a minority? Britney can't sing. Wearing tight PVC costumes won't make her records, or shows, sell. She needs to just be herself, and stop trying to make people like her; She's disgraced Britain's biggest talent show by lip syncing in her first performance here in five years.

The Circus

On Monday Take That released their new album, The Circus... and I bought it!

Well, I bought it for my mum's Christmas present, but it's actually quite good. A few weeks ago they released their new single Greatest Day, at first I didn't like it, but it grew on me! And It's now my favourite song at the moment. Even if you're not a Take That fan, check out the new single and album! Tracks to watch out for on the album are Hello, and How Did It Come To This; although it's all good.

Check out the latest single, Greatest Day, here!

Britney Sucks! ...Yay Miley!

Last night on The X Factor Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears performed. Yay!

I'm shocked! Until last night I always hated Miley, because I thought she lip synced... but she actually doesn't! Oh em gee! Was a proper jaw-dropping moment. Plus she's quite a good singer, too. During the results show Britney Spears performed her shitty single, Womanizer. She was so blatantly lip syncing! From the very first word you could see she was trying to hard to look as if she was singing, but it was just so bad. The whole three minutes were cringe worthy.

But anyway, I have new found respect for Miley Cyrus! Who would of thought it huh?! Check out her awesome performance below. If you really want to, check out Britney's performance here.

"It's Time For A Black Bond!"

P.d Diddy's latest blog, from his infamous Diddy Blog, has revealed his dream of being the next Bond.

Diddy says, "I feel like I am best suited to be the next James Bond. We have a black president and it's time for there to be a black Bond." He's even made his own audition tape, which cost £500,000 to produce. His audition is a short film entitled, I Am King, which is coincidently the same name as his new Fragrance. The five minute long film features Diddy himself, obviously, surrounded by women... and other glamorous stuff. I find it quite boring and dull to be honest, would be quite funny to see someone else take up the position of Bong next! Haha! Check out the blog / video below.

Something In Your Mouth... BANNED?!

Nickelback have banned their Dark Horse track, Something In Your Mouth from British radio!

Their record label, Roadrunner, have banned the track after Nickelback said it's "prudish" and too offensive for Brits; they clearly haven't considered their fans, and who this would actually be played by... you're hardly going to hear Metal on Radio 1 are you?! Leading UK rock station Kerrang! have launched a campaign to get the song unbanned from the airwaves, with their listeners fully backing them, "A little too racy for British radio? Sorry, but the lyrics in this song probably aren't even as 'racy' as songs by bands such as the Sugababes or Girls Aloud who sing about not only sex, but promote promiscuity to a much younger audience". This fan is completely right! Compare the opening lyrics from Something In Your Mouth to Girl Aloud's Long Hot Summer: "Got to meet the hottie with the million dollar body", at first you'd think that's sexually related, but then take a look at Long Hot Summer, "I know you like to wear my dressing gown. When I'm not there. I guess you like it in my shoes" Girls Aloud clearly have the more sexually charged song, judging by the first line. Yet this is listened to by teenage girls across the UK, and there's no problem?! What is the music industry coming to...

Anyways, check out Something In Your Mouth here, and judge for yourself how offensive it is.

Stop Boosting MySpace's Ego!

The Killer's, and Kanye West, are exclusively premièring their new albums on MySpace this weekend.

Both the new records are going to be hitting stores this Monday, worldwide. I'm personally not a fan of either of their new music, so I haven't even bothered checking out the previews. But It seems pretty damn stupid. Everyone's giving away music for free, and then complaining that the music industry is suffering. First McFly (English Pop Band) gave away their new album for free in a newspaper, now The Killer's and Kanye West are practically giving away their music for free. Lame.

Anyways, If you do lovez Kanye... check out his new single, Heartless, here.

Red Hair, Emo Bangs, and Acoustic Guitars

Red Hair, "Emo" Bangs, and Acoustic Guitars... makes a performance to remember :)

So I was just browsing YouTube, watching Decode repeatedly, and came across an old performance from Paramore! It's an acoustic version of Pressure they did back in '06, back when Hayley had her luscious red hair, just like she does again now, and Josh looked as hot as ever. Watching them play their first single acoustically again brought back some good memories! Haha!

Katy Perry Has Fake T**s!

Gah. Who the hell started this rumour?

Katy Perry has shot down rumours of her breasts being fake. She says, "How could people think these are fake? Look at them. Ask them! They are as real as real can be. One hundred per cent genuine and untouched... well sort of. I would never spend money on fake boobs." Katy goes on to say she doesn't have a problem with cosmetic surgery, or anyone that gets it done, but is furious about the accusation. "A tuck or a lift never hurt anyone. In 50 years time, I may look like a Siamese cat in a wind tunnel, but as of this moment I haven't and the rack is real."

How could anyone think such a thing?! No one's happy with the truth these days eh... :)

Coldplay To Retire!

Coldplay have announced yet another long break, only this one sounding a lot more permanent.

Chris Martin has announced the end of Coldplay. He says, "I'm 31 now and I don't think bands should keep going past 33. So we're trying to pack in as much as possible. I don't believe in time off." Coldplay fans are devastated! No more music from them... EVER! I think this is a huge mistake for Chris to make, as not only will he regret it when he runs low on money, but surely he'll miss it? Chris Martin has mimicked Kanye West in his claim of what their recent success is, "The reason we're the biggest band in the world at the moment is because the others are on holiday. While U2 and Green Day are away, we've gotten to make the most of it." Unfortunately, I have to agree with him, as I don't think Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends is nearly as good as their previous albums. Hopefully they'll rethink the ending of their careers!

Meanwhile, check out Coldplay's latest single, Lost!

The Sex Pistols Are Racist!

Kele Okereke of Bloc Party has spoken out about a racist incident which happened this summer.

Kele Okereke has said that whilst at Summercase festival over in Spain he was racially abused by a member of John Lydon's (Sex Pistols) entourage, which lead to a brawl. Involved in the fight were Lydon and his entourage, Kele, and guys from Kaiser Chiefs and Foals backing up Kele. He says, "I really wanted to, like, whip his face off. I was lucky I had lots of people around me who were calming me down." Kele also mentioned his thoughts of John Lydon, calling him "the devil", he's also extremely glad there were several witnesses of the event. Yay Kele! ;)

Dark Horse

Nickelback's sixth album is set to hit stores this Monday!

After three years since All The Right Reasons, Nickelback are returning with another superb record, featuring the fantastic new track, Gotta Be Somebody. As with all their previous albums, Nickelback have created an album for everyone, whether you're a metal-head, or a Mariah Carey fan. Dark Horse is still the same sound of Nickelback, which comes as a surprise considering the long wait for this record. Highlights of the album include Just To Get High, If Today Was Your Last Day, and Gotta Be Somebody.

Dark Horse is hitting stores worldwide this Monday (Tuesday in the US) Nov 17 - 18, be sure to check it out!

New LP From LP!

Linkin Park have started recording their forth album!

Early this month, so around now, Linkin Park will start recording their next studio album - only a year and a half after the release of Minutes To Midnight. Chester Bennington is calling the new album a "concept record" and says "I'm not sure I'm allowed to say what the big plan is", writing has already begun for the new album alongside Bennington working on his new solo record. Chester is hoping for a spring or summer release for his album, but I'm pretty sure avid Linkin Park fans will be assuming this the end of the band. Side-projects exist among several members, but a solo career could journey into unknown territory. Let's hope they can stick together!

There's no predicting when the new record from LP could be released, considering they spent about year working on Minutes To Midnight - but it'll probably be worth the wait!

Rihanna Got Motion Sickness!

On Thursday night, in Sydney, Rihanna ran off stage half way through Umbrella!

Rihanna was half-way through her duet with Chris Brown when she rushed off stage, holding her stomach. Fans were left with Brown looking baffled, and having to continue on his own. The incident reportedly caused health scares, but all hope was restored when the Barbadian lass appeared on stage the following night... After watching the performance, it's quite clear that she just got nausea from being spun around so much during the song. View a clip of the performance below!

Green Day Shoes!

Billie Joe Armstrong, of Green Day, has teamed up with Converse to produce a charity-giving shoe.

The exclusive brand of Converse is part of the Product (Red)™ campaign for aids, and incorporates Armstrong's favourite colours, Black and Red. The shoe's are $69.99 in the US, but don't yet seem to be available in the UK or Europe (let me know if they are!). Compared to other styles of Converse on the market, these don't really stand out, and Billie obviously hasn't had much input with the design, but if you're into all the charity stuff then i'm sure you'll love them. 10% of profits go to Product (RED)™.

Go here for more details on the shoe, and Product (RED)™.

Road To Revolution

The best rock festival just got better.

Linkin Park are releasing their new live CD/DVD, Road To Revoltion, this month. It was filmed at their UK version of Projekt Revolution, in Milton Keynes. The set includes 18 tracks, with all the hits such as Numb, One Step Closer, Crawling, and Breaking The Habit. Disappointingly, Papercut isn't on the track listing! Their performance of Numb/Encore and Jigga What/Faint with Jay-Z also makes an appearance on the DVD.

The CD/DVD is released on November 24 (Nov 25 - US) and is available for pre-order now from all good internet music stores.

Check out the live performance of Breaking The Habit from Milton Keynes here

New Gorillaz Album On The Way!

Finally! Yes!

In an article on NME.com about the regrouping of Blur, Damon Albarn has said that he's half way through the process of making the next Gorillaz album, he also mentions that the new record will be different and interesting; as is every Gorillaz record! If you're a big fan and need something new NOW, check out Albarn's lastest work, for a more oriental take on the style, in his opera, 'Monkey: A Journey To The West'.

I'm predicting a late 2009 release for the new record from Gorillaz, but hopefully it'll be sooner!

The Beatles Are Irish!

The EMA's are over and done with for another year!

Katy Perry was most deffinately a superb host, despite the audience not getting her humour. She managed to get through numerous outfits, all fantastic! Her hair looked amazing too! Most of the award winners were undeserved, in my opinion anyway... but the performances weren't all too bad. Kanye West was a disaster, he cannot sing, one bit - there's no way of being nice about it... plus he blended into the floor. His duet with Estelle was okay, but she had a backing track which was disappointing, seeing as she can actually sing. Beyonce, Take That, Kid Rock, and The Killer's all bored me greatly, especially The Killers; they've gone downhill so much since their debut album. The Wombat's cover of Bleeding Love (only aired in the UK) was quite good, if you like them; if not you probably think they murdered the song. The Ultimate Legend award for Paul McCartney was introduced by Bono (U2), he took his time, so long that I got bored; he didn't please the liverpudlian audience either as he mentioned that The Beatles should have been irish, "If it wasn't for the potato famine, they'd be ours!" He recieved a nice amount of boo's, and rightly so!

Katy's closing to the show, with Hot 'N Cold, was awesome! Even though she didn't sing the whole song it was still a big crowd pleaser. It wasn't the greatest year for the EMA's, but Katy made it watchable. :)

"Harajuku, yeahhh!"

Seen the latest Avril Lavigne video update from Japan?!

Abbey DawnIt shows us the infamous Abbey Dawn store over in Japan and features some crazy japanese fans! One of which is a guy, who screams "Harajuku, yeahhh!" So, that's all fine... but it's more what he's wearing that's slightly worrying! As you can see in the video he's wearing the classic stripey pink tee, of the Abbey Dawn line! Which is designed for girls!

I guess he couldn't wait for a guys line?!

Check out the video here!

Katy Perry - #1 Idiot?

Facebook has far too many hate-groups.

Katy PerryI came accross a group complaining about Katy Perry for posing with a three inch knife, they have a good point when they say that it's a bad image to carry for teens in Britain, as knife crime is currently extremely high. Despite this, the photo has never been hugely publised, and has only been posted on her MySpace. And along with this, Katy's american; they don't have such problems over in the US! So, get over it.

Wentz and Stump Break A World Record!

Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Patricia Stump have broken a world record! Yay them!

Pete Wentz & Patrick StumpThe record they've broken is the most interviews conducted by a duo in a 24-hour period; they managed to achieve 74 radio interviews within the day. Each interview was a minimum of eight minutes, with the longest being twenty. Wentz and Stump only breaked for food and toilet breaks.

Fall Out Boy's fifth album, Folie à Deux, is due to be released this December. Check out their latest single, I Don't Care, here!

Decode Video!

Paramore's video for Decode has been released!

Hayley WilliamsAnd it's fecking awesome! It's set in a remote forest and features clips of the movie, Twilight. The video fits the song perfectly and will almost definately be grabbing some awards. Hayley has yet again changed her hair, whether it's just for the video or not, who knows... but she looks amazing! She's gone back to the more darker look, just like when we first saw her a few years back. In my opinion she looks alot better with darker hair :)

If you haven't seen the video yet, check it out here!

Magic

Justin Timberlake has a brand new track!

Justin TimberlakeNow i'm not usually a fan of his music... and today's no different. This new track is nothing special, and nothing significantly better than his previous work. Considering how the music industry is progessing, Timberlake doesn't seem to have moved along with it, Kanye West's moved on from the rapping, Bloc Party are more electronic, and Coldplay have discovered a new sound; and in general, electronic / alternative bands are getting more popular. But Justin is still screeching as if he's still 15, and boring with manotinous beats.

Click here to go check out his brand new track, Magic

Hot 'N Cold!

Best Song EVER?!

Hayley Williams
Tonight I heard Paramore's brand new track, Decode, for the first time.

It's so awesome! I love it so much! It's possibly their best song ever!

The epic track is being released as part of the Twilight (movie) soundtrack and is available this tuesday (November 4th) in the US; it's due to be released in the UK on monday 24th.

In the mean time, you can check out the track here.

As for the other track from Paramore featuring on the soundtrack... yeah that's not so good ;)

Scene Kids... Now A Music Genre?!

What's the music industry coming to?...

Hey MondayOver in the Other Artists and Bands section on AvrilBandaids.com I started a Hey Monday thread, one random user posted calling them poser's. St Jimmy replied questioning how they're poser's, in his post he went on to say "they're just a generic scene band, 'scene' has more or less become a legit genre. You say 'scene' band and you know exactly what they'll sound like."

Since when is scene a music genre?! How has a visually-based stereotype managed to become musical based? It hasn't. What's wrong with people! A few years ago people would be saying these guys are emo, whatever happened to that? I remember when everyone constantly argued that Fall Out Boy were emo, now you're all calling them scene... yeah?

Scene kids are pathetic anyway, no need to make a pretty decent band seem shit by labelling them with a cheap image.

Hey Monday

Time for another new banddd.

Hey Monday's Cassadee sings with We The Kings' TravisMost of you guys in America probably already know about these guys, as they're gradually getting bigger over there; but over here in the UK they're pretty much unheard of, i'm sure they're not big in Europe or Asia either. Their debut album was realeased back in early October, and I just got hold of it a few days back, I've already listened to it a dozen times! It's awesome! Highlights of the album are Homecoming, Arizona, and Run, Don't Walk; with their ballads being in a class of their own. Candles and 6 Months are so astonishing it's unbelievable.

Check out Hey Monday! Before it's too late!

Get your mom away from my... CAN HEAD!

HELLO! HOLA! SALUT! CIAO! JAGSHEMASH!

I have a brand new band for y'all to check out! And you should all love them!

A few weeks ago I saw The Ting Tings, and of course they had a opening band... Who were surprisingly good. I'm not usually impressed by opening bands at small gigs, but with these guys i'd go as far to say they were almost better than Kate and Jules (The Ting Tings). They opened their half hour set with an epic track titled You Are The Hat which appears on their first EP, Jake Summers. FLApes debut album is available to buy in Ireland, and is released in the UK early next year. It's absolutely fantastic! My favourite track has to be Do You Karate?, check it out here!

Enjoy!
